Sample text for a demo project

This page is sample text written for a portfolio project. It is not legal advice and not a real agreement. Ticketzy is not a company and sells no real tickets.

Sample text, last edited 9 October 2026.

1. About this service

Ticketzy is a portfolio project that shows how an event ticketing site could work. It is not a company and does not sell real tickets.

The events, venues, organizers and prices are demo data.

2. Accounts

You can browse events without an account. To buy tickets, like events or write comments you create a buyer account. To publish events you create an organizer account, which an administrator must verify.

  • Use an email address you can access, because it is your login.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • An administrator can reject or suspend an account that breaks these terms.

3. Orders and payments

Payments are simulated. No card is charged, no money moves, and a paid order is only a record in the demo database.

  • The price shown is the price of the order. Ticketzy’s commission is taken from the organizer’s payout, it is not added to the buyer’s price.
  • Prices are shown in the currency of the event.
  • Each ticket has a QR code that works once, at check-in.

4. Seat holds

Seats you pick are held for 120 seconds while you check out. This time is a server setting. An order that is not paid in time expires and its seats are released.

You can hold up to 8 seats at a time.

5. Refunds

A paid order can be refunded as a whole until 23:59 on the day before the event, in the time zone of the venue, as long as none of its tickets has been used. When an event is cancelled, its paid orders are refunded.

Refunds are simulated, like payments.

6. Organizer responsibilities

Organizers are responsible for their events being accurate and taking place.

  • Give true titles, descriptions, dates, venues and prices.
  • Do not upload images or text you have no right to use.
  • Check attendees in with their QR codes.
  • Cancel an event as soon as you know it will not take place.
  • An administrator can reject, suspend or cancel events and accounts.

7. Acceptable use

Do not try to break, overload or misuse the demo, other people’s accounts or the data in it.

  • No automated bulk purchases or scraping that harms the site.
  • No abusive, unlawful or misleading comments and messages.

8. Changes and contact

These sample terms can change at any time. For questions, use the contact page.
